What I want for Christmas

What I want for Christmas

DMC: Devil May Cry
New DMC: Devil May Cry poster that I also wish for.

Okay, now I know everyone on here has been doing "What I want for Christmas" posts on here, and now it's my turn to share. The thing I want, however, is a bit more realistic.

I want the new DMC: Devil May Cry. All I want to do is cuddle up in my blanket and spend Christmas Break with Video Gaming's favorite, rebooted demon.

(All for the price of $30.)

Christmas Wish

By; Daveana Owens

What I want for Christmas isn't really much. All I want for Christmas is for my family to come together and celebrate like how we used to. Every Christmas we used to enjoy the love in the air, joy and laughter opening presents but now that has come to the end now that everyone is gone. Christmas always got the whole family together to share all the love.

This year will be the first year with no one to celebrate with. I wish I could take everyone back to my mom's house and continue cherishing our family moments with eachother. That's all I want for Christmas.

Special Ed. Thanksgiving Dinner

Special Ed. Thanksgiving Dinner

by Trina Hooker
The children aided with adults enjoying their meal.

The week before break, teachers of the Special Ed. hosted their annual Thanksgiving Dinner open to all Burbank students and teachers alike. This event was so heartwarming and loving, it'll hold a special place in my memories of Burbank.

Mr. Polo.

I was referred to Mr. Polo as he was the "Boss" man of this event. After asking for his permission to attend the event, I immediately began snapping picture after picture with my iPhone. I would have asked Mr. Hull for a nice camera, but there were too many photo oppertunites appearing.

Mr. Corona, VAPA (SLC 7) Counselor
Little by little I started to get wrapped up in the bits of happiness that was compressed into the tiny room. "Oh, everyone's just there to eat." a fellow VAPA teacher had said, but I thought differetly. As I snapped more and more pictures, every thing I captured on camera was awesome. Not one bad photo. Teachers and students from all SLCs came together and chatted excitedly inside and out side of room. Even Mr. Corona posed for a picture!

All of the delicious food served at the Dinner.

Students making their plates.
There was so much going on I wanted to take pictures of everything! So many jokes were splashed I had an unremovable smile plastered on my face. "Noooo~" A girl said weakly. "Don't take my pictuuuure~!" and then she bursted into laughter.

I then proceded outside of the crowded room, saying "Newspaper Club!" to everyone I could and only got a shot of Mr. Lazaga, the gym teacher.
My former gym teacher, Mr. Lazaga.

I tried to get a picture of Mr. Polo pigging out on his plate, but Mr. Lazaga nudged me playfully in the back, giving me parental look. I scrunched up my eyebrows and smirked and falsely stomped back into the tiny room, snapping more pictures. The food seemed to disappear.
The leftovers of a good meal.

A student gawking McClatchy's beard.

I went into B4 and got some good pictures of the participants in there also. I caught Mr. McClatchy talking to a student, at this time his was three days into Fear the Beard challenge.

Two students looking awesome for a picture.
Mr. McElheney and Mr. Mamola
"Pretending like you're eating! She's taking a picture."
After I took a picture of this group they requested me to do
the same photo again on the pink cell phone.
Everyone grabbing for a delicious portion of the offered food,

I buzzed around each table asking to snap a picture for the Titan Ledger. Laughingly, they agreed and posed in their best formation, "OK"ing me for the shot.

Actually I wanted to get a plate, but by the time I was done snapping photos I was full-

of happiness!

I hadn't even eaten anything for lunch, but I was just full for some reason. I was just so happy and beaming, I didn't need to eat!

I just know one thing, and that's the fact, I will be covering this story again next.

(And maybe get me a plate!)

What do I want for Christmas?

By Chee Xiong

Christmas, my child, is love in action.
Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas.
-Dale Evans Rogers
It's the time of the year of joy, colorful lights, evergreen conifer trees, carols, ginger bread, cold winters, and PRESENTS! Everyone loves a thoughtful present. Christmas is the best time of the year to receive such wonderful presents yet the hardest question to answer is, "What do I want for Christmas?"

There is a lot that comes in mind to what I want. Yet the most important thing for me is what Christmas was made for. Giving. I want to see the smiles and emotions that springs up in a persons face when I give them a gift. I want them to understand the "thank you" that is put into the gift. If I had the possibility to give, then it would be the greatest Christmas for me.

Overall, all I want for Christmas is a great winter break to spend with my family and for everyone to have a great Christmas.

Christmas is a big deal in our community. It helps brings families together to share wonderful memories of gift giving. Christmas is the time of the year to share the most of what we share in our family.

Cyber Monday!

by Yessenia Sanchez

Cyber Monday is here and has gone! Did you buy something on Cyber Monday? Kohl's, Walmart, Target, Levi"s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Amazon and Radio Shack were going all out that day to take your money.

According to Marketing Land "Consumers will spend 11% more during Thanksgiving Weekend this year than they planned to spend in 2012." It seems clear that every year, more and more people are buying during the holidays. Many people are buying just about anything online, particularly electronics and electronic accessories, jewelry, baby and kid games/toys.

Amazon was trying to find new ways to ship their products in 30 minutes or less. They have begun using drones, unmanned aircraft, to make shipping easier and a bit of a novelty, too. (Wouldn't you like to have these little helicopters drop your box off on your driveway?)

This year post offices and shipping companies are on there busiest days this holiday, with mail, electronics and shipping other accessories that they will have deliver to your front steps. So get your credit cards ready because these deals aren't going to last all day! (at least that's what they claimed).

Movie review : The World's End

By Shafay

The World's End is the third installment of director Edgar Wright's trilogy of comedies starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, following the successes "Shaun of the Dead" (2004) and "Hot Fuzz" (2007). In the movie,  20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again.

They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub - The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries. Titans Fear the Beard

In LBHS some of the teachers participated in "Fear the Beard". What we mean by "Fear the Beard" is that the teachers wouldn't shave until Titans win the football championship this fall.
Several male teachers talked about this with the Titan Ledger.

Tiger on Campus!

Escaped tiger hiding from the hot sun.

Tiger escaped its enclosure from a nearby zoo and took shelter in a High School.

It was said that the tiger cage was unlocked and it supposedly took to the streets of Sacramento where he was found in Luther Burbank High School.

The school was on lock down for one and a half hour for Animal Control to escort the tiger back to the zoo where it belongs.

Tiger and students were not harmed.

Editorial: Why Students Don't Like Math

By: Divya Chand & Salmaan Khan

Students don't like math because you have to use your brain a lot. It's hard. Some students like math, some don't. Math is like solving a puzzle. Students get confused by looking at the problem. In math you have to memorize the formula and steps.

Some students don't like to solve problems. Some people like to solve problem. If you make one mistake you will get a wrong answer. Everybody uses math everyday ex: time, counting, and etc....

Students don't want to deal with numbers and equations. It's a set of symbols and concepts that relate and work together. Only in math you can solve things in different ways. There are a lot of methods to solving problems.

So, really, math isn't that bad. Learn it.
